NOS Primavera Sound in Porto is the Portuguese younger sibling of Spain’s beloved alternative music festival, held each summer.
Launched in 2012 as the first international spin-off of Barcelona’s Primavera Sound, the Porto edition has built its own identity with bold, eclectic lineups and a more intimate atmosphere than its Spanish counterpart.
The festival takes place in Parque da Cidade, one of Europe’s largest urban parks, where stages sit among trees with views over the Atlantic. Since 2018, it has also been recognised as one of the first major festivals to reach a fully gender-balanced lineup. The festival draws around 35,000 attendees per day, with a lineup that mixes international headliners and a strong Portuguese and emerging-artist showcase across multiple stages set among the park’s trees.
